How does Stockist Map Sync work?
Tag any Shopify customer with a designated tag (e.g.
stockist) and their address is automatically geocoded and displayed on an interactive map on your storefront. You can also import locations in bulk via CSV.Do I need a Google Maps API key?
No. Stockist Map Sync uses OpenStreetMap and Leaflet, which are completely free and require no API keys or external accounts.
How do I add the map to my storefront?
After installing the app, go to your theme editor (Online Store → Customize), add a new section or block, and select "Store Locator Map" from the Stockist Map Sync options. No code changes needed.
Which themes are supported?
All Shopify themes are supported, including free themes like Dawn, Refresh, Sense, and Pitch, as well as premium themes. The map is fully responsive and adapts to any layout.
How does customer tag sync work?
In the app settings, define which customer tags to sync (e.g.
stockist, retailer). Any customer with a matching tag has their address geocoded and added to the map. Changes sync automatically via webhooks.Can I import locations from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Go to Import in the app, download the CSV template, fill in your locations, and upload. Addresses are geocoded automatically. Supported columns include name, address, phone, hours, website, description, and category.
How does predictive search work?
When visitors type in the search bar, real address suggestions appear via OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service. Selecting a suggestion shows nearby locations sorted by distance.
Does the map auto-detect visitor location?
Yes. If the visitor allows browser location access, the map shows their nearest locations sorted by distance. If declined, the map uses your configured default centre and zoom.
What is the difference between plans?
The only difference is location count. Free supports up to 10 locations, Pro up to 250, and Business is unlimited. All features are included in every plan.
Can I change my plan at any time?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade at any time via the Shopify admin. Pro and Business plans include a 14-day free trial.
How do I customise the map appearance?
Go to Settings to choose from 5 map styles, set your marker colour, configure the default centre and zoom, and adjust the search radius.
Why do changes take a few minutes to appear?
Shopify's App Proxy caches responses for a few minutes. After saving or syncing, changes may take 2–5 minutes to appear on your live storefront.
